Superheterodyne transistor radio
Introduced in May 1959. The best selling transistor radio in Great Britain in the beginning of the sixties. Designed by David Ogle. The finish of the cases differs: the C model (above) is chrome and blue, the B model brass and brown. The case is the same as that of valve portable model MB60, issued in 1957. Transistors: OC44, 2× OC45, 4× OC72. Uses a 9V PP9 battery. Bands: Medium and long wave.
The radio was re-introduced as model TR82/97 (with FM) in 1998. This "faithfull reproduction" differs from the original so much that nothing can be used to repair an original and sound quality is below average.
