Superheterodyne receiver

Three valve (+ rectifier) radio designed to operate on short, medium and long wave. In a round walnut coloured bakelite cabinet, designed by Wells Coates. Circular perspex dial with travelling cursor and scale lamp. "Florentine bronze" loudspeaker surround. The fifth and last in a series of 5 round Ekco radios. The first one being the AD65, made in 1934. The are two other versions of the radio: a black bakelite one with chromium-plated trim and a version in green catalin.
