"Rondo", a model from the 1936 "Symphonic series". Veneered cabinet with two brass grille bars and brown Bakelite escutcheon (hinged tuning scale that can be lifted forward and backward). Made in the Philips factory in Leuven, Belgium. Licence S.E.M.-S.B.R. Brevet Philips.
Superheterodyne radio with signal strength tuning indicator, delayed automatic volume control, mechanical soundless tuning, variable band width combined with a variable tone filter, connections for gramophone and and extra loudspeaker. The radio can be used on a mains antenna. Soundless tuning is activated by lightly pressing the volume knob.
Receives on short wave (16.5-51 meters), medium wave (198-585 meters) and long wave (725-2000 meters).
This is the AU-version, prepared for DC.
