Christiaan Kalff,
(1897–1976) did a lot of design work for Philips. Kalff
started his career in 1925 as chief of the Philips
Advertising Studio.
He made
designs for posters, advertisements, brochures, folders
and package materials.
He also designed radios (the Philips 2501, 2502 and
2514) and disc loudspeakers (e.g. the Philips 2003). He
was an architect as well and in this capacity designed a
number of Philips factories and
the Evoluon.
Kalff was active
as designer of posters (Holland-America line,
Jaarbeurs Fair in Utrecht, Calvé) and exhibitions. As an
architect he designed the Sterrenkundig
Observatorium (Astronomical Observatory) in Eindhoven. |
